Charleston Photography: College of Charleston Annual Donor Societies Reception
As a Charleston event photographer, I love when I get a call from the College of Charleston.
I actually worked as a photographer on the College of Charleston's Marketing and Communication team for two years, so C of C holds a special place in my heart.
I'm clearly not the only one who feels that way, and passionate supporters of the college turned out in droves for the College of Charleston Donor Societies reception this year. This gorgeous evening kicked off at the Cedar Room at the Cigar Factory, one of the most elegant spaces in town, with an incredible sushi spread and passed appetizers.
Guests mingled until President Hsu delivered a warm welcome and introduced the evening's student speaker, Timara. Timara shared her stirring story of the hardships facing her pursuit of higher education and what a powerful difference the College of Charleston made in her life's journey, which touched everyone in the room.
Founded in 1770, the College of Charleston is a nationally recognized public liberal arts and sciences university. Located in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, the College offers its more than 10,000 undergraduates and approximately 1,000 graduate students a quality education with small-college feel that's blended with the advantages and diversity of a mid-sized, urban university.
The campus resides in the center of Charleston's beloved historic district, and I highly recommend any visitors to the Lowcountry take a stroll through the Cistern, one of the most iconic spaces at the College of Charleston. You'll fall in love with the ancient live oaks dripping with Spanish moss.
Thank you to the College of Charleston for having me to photograph this incredible event! It's always a joy to see so many familiar faces.
