Charleston Branding Photographer: Grit & Grace Studio Spring/Summer 2022
A photoshoot on a yacht? Oh, that's basically a Charleston photographer's dream, especially when it's on Yacht Kelpie!
My loves at Grit & Grace Studio climbed aboard the gorgeous Kelpie for an incredible shoot showcasing the Spring / Summer Collection on the Charleston Harbor, and it was such a joy to be behind the lens with this creative team.
Grit & Grace Studio is a coastal chic gift company located on historic King Street in Charleston, South Carolina. This team of talented artisans handcrafts Lowcountry jewelry, decoupage oysters, and oyster ring dishes. They actually make the only oyster trinket dishes that help save our seas: Grit & Grace Studio recycles 10 oyster shells for each oyster gift purchased.
I need to start by saying thank you to Captain Shannon for warmly welcoming us aboard Kelpie. Kelpie is a stunning 78.8-foot traditional gaff-rigged schooner designed by Francis Sweisguth and built at the Harvey Gamage Shipyard in 1928.
This eye-catching vessel boasts a rich history that includes hunting German U-boats during WWII, taking First Place at the Pendennis Cup in Cornwall, England, and winning Classic Refit of the Year by Classic Boat Magazine in 2014.
It is an incredible ship, and it was the perfect set for our spring branding and product session. We kicked off the shoot in swimwear, accented by beach totes, Lowcountry jewelry, and coastal chic accessories. The second look featured airy sundresses, a faux proposal (they are actually engaged to be married next month, however!), and a lovely dinner spread overlooking the water.
Thank you to Grit & Grace Studio for having me as their Charleston branding photographer, and thank you to everyone who helped make this dream shoot a reality!
