Charleston Event Photography: YPO at Leon's Oyster Shed
This time last week, I was surrounded by great people, amazing food, and fire-roasted oysters (even if it was monsooning outside the tent). Being a Charleston event photographer definitely has its perks, and getting to share in evenings like this is one of them!
The Gulf Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization had their retreat in Charleston this year, and I was the event photographer for their Thursday night rooftop cocktail hour at The Dewberry Hotel and again on Saturday night at Leon's Oyster Shed.
The Oyster Shed at Leon's is the gorgeous, intimate event space located directly behind one of Charleston's most beloved restaurants, Leon's Oyster Shop. The historic building offers exposed brick with wooden beams, vintage signage and decor accents, and cozy farm tables, and the adjacent patio is flanked with greenery and an outdoor kitchen.
The YPO guests thoroughly enjoyed watching their oyster hors d'oeuvres and then their fish main course roast over an open fire while sipping on cocktails and networking.
The Young Presidents Organization website describes their group as "a global leadership community of chief executives with approximately 29,000 members in more than 130 countries who are driven by the belief that the world needs better leaders." Each member of YPO achieved significant leadership success at a young age, and YPO members grow their leadership abilities through peer learning and exceptional experiences in an inclusive community of open sharing and trust.
It was such a pleasure working with this warm, welcoming community of people in such an elegant, unique space, and I hope they'll be back soon!
And as a reminder, I divide time between Charleston, SC, and Lake Lure, NC.
I love shooting here, there, Greenville, and everywhere in between! Contact me, and let’s get your event, conference, or family session on the calendar.
