Charleston Product Photography: Pluff Mud Mercantile
One of my favorite parts of product or small business branding photography is getting to totally geek out on a still life.
And when the product is as gorgeous and decadent as Pluff Mud Mercantile’s handmade soaps? It is a nerdy photographer’s dream.
I met with owner Gina Moore to see what products she wanted to showcase and get a feel for her West Ashley shop and Lowcountry-influenced products.
I quickly decided a clean background, pretty natural light, and just the right amount of carefully arranged, textural mess to add some narrative would be the way to go.
Plus, when soaps this pretty are made with Charleston tea, local grits, and a honeysuckle mix, you want to show off the ingredients! (I LOVE products made with REAL ingredients!)
I’m thrilled with these photographs. I could shoot soap all day. If Charleston ever has enough local artisan soap makers to make Soap Photographer a full time career, I’m so there.
