Charleston Event Photography: Charleston Stage Director's Circle for Mamma Mia!

Two of the best things about being an event photographer in Charleston are the gorgeous venues and the incredible food, which is probably tied with the friendly people.

All of these things have made my shoots with Charleston Stage some of my favorite events to photograph over the last year! As each of their theater productions opens, Charleston Stage hosts a special reception for their Director's Circle members followed by an exclusive opening night performances... And who WOULDN'T want to enjoy dining al fresco in the courtyard of the historic Dock Street Theater?

The Dock Street Theater is hands down my favorite example of historic architecture in Charleston's French Quarter. It boards a stunning facade of turquoise ironwork and antique brickwork, and there is a gorgeous little courtyard tucked in the back that feels like you've stepped into a secret garden.

Add Salthouse Catering into the mix, and it's the perfect summer evening. I've worked with Salthouse Catering for years through my wedding business, Reese Moore Weddings, and I can't speak highly enough of them. Not only do they consistently dish up delicious food, but they pay such exceptional attention to detail. Every hors d'oeuvre is plated so beautifully, and when working with Charleston Stage for their Director's Circle receptions, Salthouse themes the food to match the performance!

The Mamma Mia! opening reception featured tasty grape leaves (one of my guilty pleasure foods!), Mediterranean salmon, orzo, couscous, roasted chicken skewers, and an array of hummus and tapenade that I nearly faceplanted into. Sorry not sorry.

You'll find some favorite images from the Mamma Mia! Director's Circle below, and I would be remiss to not take a moment to thank the hardworking and lovely staff over at Charleston Stage for making me feel so incredibly welcome as their event photographer over the last year! Y'all have been an absolute joy to work with!
