Isle of Palms Reunion: The Rawlinsons
I first met the Rawlinsons as the photographer for their housewarming and historic Charleston home unveiling several years ago. It was quite the affair to remember, and I’m a sucker for a beautiful home and all those historic architectural details houses are known for in the Lowcountry. Some selects from that weekend are actually still up on my event photography portfolio here!
When Nadia reached out again this year to do a portrait session, I was thrilled to hear from her and even more excited to hear this group of friends has now made their trip to Charleston an annual thing.
How fun is that? I love traveling and the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve realized how hard it is to keep up with your friends you’ve made throughout your life, especially as people start having children and moving across the country. It is just so easy to put things off in this busy world we live in.
We all met out at a home on the Isle of Palms for our beach session, and they really just wanted several posed photos of the group and each family and then a lot of candids - which have always been my favorites anyway, as a photographer! It was so lovely to see everyone again and to meet ALL the babies this time! What a cute and well-behaved group of kids, I could not ask for better as a photographer. We had a wonderful time out on the beach and just barely made it in before a summer thunderstorm blew in.
Kudos to this lovely group of friends for making the time for quality and prioritizing each other!
