Charleston Conference Photography: FAB 2019 Day 1
I’m back! I took a tiny breather for some R&R after wrapping my edits from photographing FAB this year and it’s so fun to take a look back at some of my favorite images now that the dust has settled a little bit!
What a whirlwind! FAB is two days of intensive workshops and panels with some of the most inspiring and influential women in hospitality, it’s an incredible place to be a fly on the wall - with a camera in hand.
This year FAB welcomed 54 incredible speakers and for obvious reasons I’m not going to try to list them all here. It was amazing to see some beloved familiar faces back from last year as well as a whole new set of voices and the William Aiken House and American Theatre provided a backdrop that was both glamorous and intimate for the panels and mingling between sessions. (Such a great opportunity for attendees to bend the ear of their culinary idols.)
Monday’s panel topics ranged from “How to Build Sustainability into Your Business” (my personal favorite!) to “How to Get Funding” and “How to Navigate Change”. While some parts of the panels were very specific to the hospitality industry, so much of the panelists’ insights and advice translate to any small business owner and any woman in the workplace.
Once the panels wrapped up, everyone made their way out to the garden for Barbara Lynch’s garden party, which featured some pretty killer lobster sandwiches, freshly shucked raw oysters, and some delicious craft cocktails. It was a blast and I may or may not have left with two of those hot pink plastic flamingos, to the vexation of my HOA.
While I can spend forever telling you about FAB, I think the smiles and candid moments from this year’s conference speak for themselves.
