Personal Project: Spooky Halloween Session

Halloween has always been my favorite month. In high school, I once made my family eat a pumpkin recipe every day for a month to celebrate (sorry about that, Mom!), and if I'm putting up my decorations on October 2, something is wrong. I love fall, but I love the whimsy and playfulness of Halloween.
⠀
As an adult, this means a full month of scary movies with my crew. Josh, Anne Marie, and Stew and I gather weekly for horror films, take out, and over-the-top dry ice cocktails or glow in the dark wine glasses. We've been doing this for years, and our scary movie gang gathers year-round to pass judgment on whatever releases are coming out of Hollywood.⠀
⠀
This year has been a little different. The pandemic threw a wrench in our regularly scheduled couch-and-takeout or Cinebarre sessions, which I've sorely missed. We also missed out on some exciting chapters of each other's lives: there were weddings and engagements, new houses, and one of us even moved to Brunswick (not me)... which means that our movie nights now require more planning. It's not the end of an era, just a change in the timeline!
⠀
So, we decided it was time for a reunion, mountain-house style. I've literally never been so excited to see my little scary movie squad (I put bat silhouettes everywhere; we'll be finding them until next March, y'all), and I appreciate their friendship so much more deeply now. And to make up for 6 months of missed horror film showings, we topped off our weekend by celebrating Halloween with a spooky photoshoot. ⠀
⠀
Halloween might look a little different this year, but it's NEVER canceled! I hope my fellow scary movie fans enjoy!
