Kiawah Photography: The Spiller Family Session
After a long winter, I am LOVING the arrival of spring and all the joy that's come with it.
As I've always said, the best part about being a photographer is that I'm almost always called in to capture someone's joy, whether that's a marriage proposal in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the release of a fabulous new menu, or a long-awaited family reunion on Folly Beach.
So when the Spiller family reached out to me during their hunt for a Kiawah photographer, I was thrilled to learn they were looking for a family session that also included... an announcement that they're expecting a sweet baby girl this September!
Mom and dad are obviously over the moon about this news, but we're not quite sure soon-to-be big brother Shep *quite* grasps just how much his world is about to change! He seemed not entirely sure about the purpose of those sonogram images.
Fortunately, this adorable little boy has so much love to give, and it's impossible not to smile when you look at the photos of him giving his mom those full-body hugs. He also is going through a really precious Buzz Light Year phase, so he kept racing around at top speed with his arms held back like Buzz, which was hilarious.
I am so happy with how this Kiawah family session came out, but honestly, it's the warmth in their smiles that really makes these portraits come alive.
Congratulations to the Spillers! Your baby girl just won the parent lottery, and I look forward to meeting her next time y'all visit the island!
