Kiawah Island Family Portrait Session: The Bowra Family
When the Bowra family contacted me to do some family pictures for them on Kiawah Island, I knew it was going to be a fun session. Their son George was set to just propose to his girlfriend Caitlin the day before our family portrait! (She said yes!) So what better way to mark this moment in time than by taking some photos and making sure we got some special ones just of the newly engaged couple as well during our shoot.
We started out on the beautiful grounds of the Sanctuary Hotel at Kiawah Island Golf Resort, and if you’re thinking about doing family pictures on the beach this summer, I’ll tell you what I suggested to the Bowra family before our shoot: definitely do some pictures somewhere more sheltered before you head out to the beach. This has been the windiest summer I can remember for a really long time, and you will want to make sure you have a few framers from your session before you head out there in case you end up with wind tunnel hair!
I had such a great time with this family, and their little ones were so well-behaved. The solo shots of the children just might be my favorites from the session… but who are we kidding, there were a ton of sweet moments from this session!
Congratulations again to George and Caitlin, but also to the Bowra family on this special time for their family! It was a pleasure working with you all, and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your vacation at Kiawah!
