Kiawah Island Family Session: The Polizzo Family
I love when families know exactly what they want for their photo session, and when Robyn contacted me about doing their Kiawah family portrait, she had a clear idea in mind: why not head back to the spot where they got married three years prior?!
I loved the idea of shooting somewhere that was so very dear to their hearts and so filled with precious memories. Of course, it didn’t hurt that the Polizzos were married at Mingo Point, which offers sweeping views of Kiawah Island’s gorgeous marshes.
We met up early in the morning for photos with their two adorable littles (how expressive are these kiddos?!) by the marsh before heading out to the beach at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
I always love shooting at the resort. Not only are the grounds perfectly maintained, but the beach is never crowded. (No one wants some dude in a Speedo in the background of their Christmas card, am I right?)
It was also so fun to see Piper, their little girl, experience the beach for the second time in her life. She found some choice shells and fell in love with playing with sand, which both made for some awesome action shots and also got all over her parents at the end of the shoot! I had such a great time hanging out with the Polizzos, and I hope they’ll be back sooner than later.
Still working up a plan for your family photos this year? Let’s chat! I just did a pretty epic shoot at an apple orchard outside of Hendersonville, and I’m in love with the fall vibe. And just a reminder, we’re now dividing time between Charleston and Lake Lure, so your place or mine for your next round of photos?!
