Isle of Palms Family Portrait: Stephanie & Keith
You’ve heard me say before that staying with families through the years as a photographer is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. It’s fun because you’re getting to document precious moments in family history while literally watching children grow up before your very eyes, but it’s also special because it reminds you of being that age yourself.
Hailing from Florida originally, my childhood memories are all laced sand between my toes and running into the ocean with my clothes on, in my opinion, so I always try to save a little time at the end of the shoot for some candid moments with the little ones.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Stephanie and Keith’s family several times now, and I could not believe how much their babies have changed in the last year! Hudson has grown up so much and Sloane has gone from being a baby to a gorgeous little toddler.
We took some photos at the rental house at Isle of Palms on account of the wind and then paused several times along our walk out to the beach for some photo ops before heading out toward the water. Can we take a moment for Hudson’s smile when he turned back to look at us as he spotted the beach beyond the dunes? Be still my heart, that expression is just 100% childhood joy. I love it.
It was so great to see everyone again and catch up during the shoot! I can’t wait to see how much Sloane and Hudson change over the next year or so.
Here’s to filling the dog days of summer with smiles, memories, and sandy toes, y’all!
