Greenville Family Portrait: The Greers
I love being a photographer in Greenville: I fell in love with the city when I photographed euphoria last year. When my dear friend Mallory asked to hire me for a newborn session and family portrait again this fall, I was obviously excited.
Greenville is a short, pleasant drive from our place in Lake Lure, and I was thrilled the leaves were in their full autumn glory! Fall is my favorite season, and it’s been so lovely to have so many fun autumn backdrops, from apple orchards to corn mazes, for this year’s sessions.
I got to meet baby Holden, the Greer family’s littlest little, for the first time, and it was so fun to see sweet Westin in her new role as big sister. It’s also crazy how much she’s grown up and changed since the last time I saw her, right before the pandemic hit.
We did some family photos in their bedroom and the nursery, where Westin was a huge ham and Holden made the funniest grumpy faces - I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the outtakes are absolutely the best part. Of course, I’m always working to get that perfect Christmas card, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s the candid moments and outtakes that get sent to the family or framed.
Then it was down the street to a neighbor’s house, where the most amazing tree was displaying some vivid orange color.
Kudos to Westin and Holden for being such great sports during this session! I couldn’t get enough of the backdrop and their sweet faces, and I’m so happy with the results. Of course, it probably helped that we bribed Westin with some chocolate and a princess gown (not pictured here).
