Edisto Beach Family Portrait: Group Session
These days, I’m shooting more and more commercial, event, and family work, but I started my photography career off eleven years ago with an internship at Charleston magazine, shooting for the Charleston City Paper, and like most photographers, shooting weddings! (You’ll find my wedding photography website over here.)
I do love shooting weddings, though I don’t do as much of that sort of work these days, and I love keeping in touch with my brides even more. I did Ashley’s bridal portrait and then her beautiful wedding to Alex several years ago (let’s not go into how many, I’m getting old y’all), and then I did her friend Christine’s sweet wedding to Nic several years later.
We’ve all kept in touch via social media, and these lovely brides and grooms have gone on to become mamas and daddies! They reached out to see if we could all do a group family portrait session as they were planning a summer vacation to Edisto Beach with their parents and some friends, and I was so thrilled to document another happy period in their lives… and meet their babies!! There’s something so rewarding about staying with a client through the years, I know I mention that a lot but it is such a rich part of the storytelling of photography.
If you’ve never been to Edisto Beach, it is a particularly beautiful day trip in the Charleston area and I highly recommend making the trek out.
I met up with the gang at their rental house for some photos on the grounds before heading out to the beach, and while the more posed photos look great, you’re going to see a lot more of the candids in this sneak peek post! Those candid moments, that knowing look, and that belly laugh rare what it’s all about, y’all. Scroll on down for some Edisto Beach family portrait goodness!
