Charleston Family Photographer: The Thallers

It's been a busy, beautiful month for this Charleston family photographer!

As I catch my breath, I want to take a moment to share some images from this week's family session with the Thallers. Ali reached out to me for this year's family photos, and it seems like fate that our schedules aligned for their shoot on Ali and Wes' 18th wedding anniversary!

We all met up in the historic district of downtown Charleston for some gorgeous evening light, and it was so sweet to connect with this family on this special day.

As a former wedding photographer, I've spent a lot of time thinking about how culturally we idolize and adore those first steps along the marriage journey. But, for me, there's something unique and special about capturing a love that's endured, flourished, and grown over the years.

I did a very nostalgic couple's session of my own parents (51 years and counting!) during the pandemic. The joy I felt then about telling their story rings even more true of my couples and familes today:

"Give me a love story with a few bends in the cover, some dog-eared pages, a coffee stain or two, some notes in the margins, and chapter after chapter of unimaginable joy, laughter, gut-wrenching sorrows, obstacles overcome, and quiet moments as we focus on the incredible magic of now.

And, if you look closely at my favorite images from the Thaller's family session, you just might spot some their knowing glances, laughter, and magical moments as we wandered the streets of the Holy City.

Happy anniversary, Ali and Wes! It was such a pleasure meeting your children and capturing this special moment in time. May the next 18 years bring you even more joy and blessings.
