Charleston Mini Session: The Wiedemanns
Baby Andrew’s face in the picture above is basically my spirit animal from now until the Christmas decorations go up.
Fall is hands down my favorite season. I love the crisp evenings, I love pumpkins, I love Halloween, and a cold-weather fire is one of my great joys in this life. I also apparently love apple cider donuts and apple cider slushies, both vices I’ve acquired while in Lake Lure.
But I digress! One of my favorite things about fall in the Lowcountry is that it’s Christmas Card season here in Charleston! All the family portraits and mini sessions give me the opportunity to catch up with clients both old and new, and the Wiedemanns hold a special place in my heart.
I captured Ashleigh and John’s gorgeous wedding years ago (how does it still feel like yesterday?), Ashleigh’s maternity photos, Baby Andrew’s newborn session, and his one-year birthday portrait, which coincided with the purchase of their home. There is something so special about getting to share in each new chapter of someone else’s story as a photographer.
And as for Baby Andrew, I’m not sure how much longer I can really call him “baby!” This little guy has grown up so much in the last year, it’s absolutely mind-boggling. His delight in both that tiny rocking chair and the miniature pumpkins were contagious, and it’s so fun to watch him explore the world… but I’m forever in awe of how fast someone so tiny can move. Cheers to all the mamas and daddies that hit 10,000 steps every day just by chasing after their littles; not all superheroes wear capes!
It was a joy to see these smiling faces again this year, and to learn that this sweet family is expecting a new addition shortly! Congratulations to the Wiedemann family; I can’t wait to meet baby boy number two.
