Charleston Event Photography: Thompson Unity Celebration

One of the best parts about being a Charleston event photographer this year is witnessing just how EXCITED everyone is to come together and celebrate.

Though they'd originally planned a much bigger affair, the pandemic caused the Thompsons to change their plans and have a small COVID wedding in 2020. They really wanted to celebrate this special life journey with their loved ones (so did my husband and I, actually, so I relate to them personally!) so it was time to party in May of 2021. (I know, I know, it's September, and I am so very behind on sharing my favorite moments and shoots from this year; bear with me!)

Everyone gathered at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club for an elegant evening reception filled with incredible food, family, music, and love. The decor was absolutely incredible! They transformed the space with sequined draping, shimmering table linens, a beautifully lit outdoor lounge area, and gorgeous florals.

The newlyweds sat on these really epic thrones at a stunning head table that was decked out with florals and flower petals. The Thompsons' guests all wore white, which really the bride's vibrant dress shine, and the couple was alllllll smiles and stolen kisses during the evening. From the moment they hired me as their event photographer, they stressed that the priority for the evening was "just to have fun!" As a photographer, it doesn’t get better than that!

It was truly a night to remember, and I'm so happy they finally got to share this moment with their loved ones. Congratulations to this amazing couple! It was an honor to capture your joy and this magical evening.
