Charleston Couple's Session: Wynser & Gus
There’s something so fun about experiencing where you live through the eyes of a newcomer. I’ve lived in Charleston for more than 12 years - oooof, I’m dating myself! - and sometimes I forget exactly how special this little town is. True story: I moved to Charleston for a three-month internship with no plans of staying… and here I still am.
Wynser and her husband Gus just moved to the Holy City, and I had a wonderful time wandering the streets of the historic district and seeing the town through their eyes. It didn’t hurt, of course, that they’re adorable newlyweds with fabulous chemistry, and it was so much fun rediscovering every gorgeous ivy-laden nook, cobblestone cranny, and picturesque alleyway during our couple’s photos.
I also think it’s so special that Wynser and Gus made the time to celebrate this big life step with a portrait session. All too often, we forget to slow down and savor the moment, and I hope they’ll enjoy these photos for decades to come.
As someone who literally does a photoshoot every year on her dog’s birthday, I’m obviously a big fan of documenting the special stuff in life.
Congratulations to Wynser and Gus! I know you’ll fall in love with Charleston, just the way I did, but I also have a sneaking suspicion that y’all have a blast wherever you go and whatever you do. I look forward to running into y’all around town.

As a reminder, I’m now dividing time between Charleston and the Asheville area! I can’t wait to connect for our next family portrait or branding session, whether it’s by the Charleston marshes or the Western North Carolina mountains. Have camera, will travel, y’all.
