Charleston Family Portrait: The Haydens

I really love family sessions, and I’m so grateful to have met so many lovely families of all shapes and sizes and walks of life this summer and to have had the opportunity to capture their joy.

I connected with the Haydens a couple of weeks ago because they’re about to open a new chapter in their lives: they’re moving from Charleston and wanted to capture some images with their sweet baby girl Henley in Hampton Park. (If you’ve never been to Hampton Park, make some time for a long walk this fall. It is one of my favorite places on the Charleston peninsula!)

Hampton Park holds a special place in Matthew and Gabby’s hearts. Not only have they spent tons of time walking in and enjoying this beautiful place, they took a lot of their wedding photos here several years ago. So of course it made sense that they’d want to return with Henley for some “now and then” images.

We lucked out and got AMAZING weather that day, and Henley was just the cutest, happiest little model I could have asked for. She was all smiles for our mini-session, and as always I think the candids are my favorites from this family portrait. I love the interactions between the baby and her parents, but also just between Matthew and Gabby.

What a beautiful way to savor the end of a life chapter as the Haydens embark on their next adventure! I hope they’ll enjoy these photos for years to come… and I also hope they’ll come back sometime for another session as Henley gets older!

Congrats on your move, Matthew, Gabby, and baby Henley! I wish you all the best in this new season!
