Christmas card season is in full swing here in Charleston! One of my favorite thing about the holidays is catching back up with so many of my families for their Christmas card photos. I love a family session in general, don’t get me wrong, but LOOK AT THIS BABY AND HIS TINY WINTER HAT! 

Does it get cuter than this?! I want to get matching ones for myself and my dog.

I first met the Barriere family back during the Thanksgiving of 2015 when I did their family portrait at Charleston’s Brittlebank Park on what was possibly the windiest day in Lowcountry history. We toughed it out and got some adorable photos but I definitely wanted to do this year’s family session someplace a little more sheltered and comfortable.

You’ve heard me mention Hampton Park before and it didn’t disappoint! The lush green background looked so awesome against the Barriere’s coordinated red and plaid outfits, especially for a Christmas card session.

And how adorable are these kids?! The family has grown by THREE over the last three years, and I loved meeting all the new additions. The cousin pictures are my favorites (tied, as always, with the candids), I have a feeling these kids are going to love looking back on these in adulthood… maybe we should make them all wear ugly sweaters next time. What do you think? Wouldn’t that be hilarious?!

It was so great to catch up with the Barriere’s during their time in Charleston and to see everyone so happy and thriving. I hope they’ll enjoy these photos for years to come, but hopefully it won’t be years until everyone is back in town and we can do another family portrait again! 

I’m so behind on this blog (I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my happy place is behind the lens rather than the keyboard!) and I have so many fun photos coming up in the next several weeks, but for now I’m going full tilt on all the happy holiday family photos you can handle! Stay tuned!
